Painted Ink
Sketched in my car and then inked on and off over a series of days, I sort of hit the point where I felt any more would do more to harm than help. Thus, following my resolution to upload the things I finish, even if I'm unhappy with them, I put it up here.
Not much to say about this one otherwise, just Tucker and Danny hanging out in a mildly spooky location, being bros. I've been trying to reel back on my tendency to overwork things to the point where they turn into visual mud, and while I feel like Danny came out all right, Tucker might have a few more shadows than he should.
The way the abandoned tunnel...thing completely dominates the center of the work is not my favorite either, but when you're working with real-life inks, it's a game of make the mark and keep moving, because once it's there, there's no going back.
While I tried to avoid making the shadows completely hilarious, I've realized my black and white works in particular could probably benifit more by ensuring they're easy to "read" first, and confirming to realistic light and shadow second. See: "stop turning my own works into mud" mentioned above.
I may or may not re-upload this, depending on how I'm feeling. I've recently realized it's possible to ease the weird yellow tones that tend to dominate my real-life peices when I try to upload them, but that's a later-me problem. For now, I reckon this is all right.
Edit: I couldn't stand it and uploaded the tone corrected version instead. The temptation to put up my art the way its supposed to look was just too strong.
